A few years back I posted an ice fishing video from Cold Lake. One of my first attempts at really sharing my videos with viewers and people seemed to like it. A combination of Cold Lake being a New Big Hit and everyone researching it back then... with the lack of media online back then seemed to just produce thousands of views in short order. All because of those first two cold lake videos I'm still making them 6 years later. Some people ask me if I ever get board of catching another fish... haven't yet, and pretty sure I can do this for a lifetime. Thanks for watching guys. Thanks for helping me get a jump start way back when. Thanks for helping get me over 10,000 Subscribers this past January! More ice fishing videos to come. Who knows where the adventure may lead! Slaying the lakers in January on early ice with the truck. Pushed it a bit. Most guys were still walking out but we drilled out to the spot. It was action on all day! Great time with the brother and dad. Recipe for the day was anchovies and tube jigs. Jaw Jacker caught a few as well.

The Jaw Jacker has changed the way I fish for trout on slow days when the fish don't want to pay any attention to a flashy spoon or moving jig. Sometimes these big lazy trout just want a small presentation that is held dead still. You could either do this with a strike indicator on your line or you could just use a couple Jaw Jacker hook setting devices like I do and be busy running back and forth. These ponds can be hit and miss, but early in the ice season from first freeze till the begining of January fishing can be excellent. Don't forget these same ponds when the weather warms up and the ice starts to melt away from the shore. These ponds will once again have actively feeding trout that you can target even after the big lakes are off limits due to fishing closures. So don't put away the auger and short rods, head out to a trout pond this spring. If you want to find a lake near you hear are a couple of great resources that I use to locate new lakes. Friends can also be a big help in locating productive spots if they're willing to share with you. the good thing about trout is that they put a new batch in every year, so you don't have to feel guilty keeping a few for dinner. Best of luck out there. Leave your comments, questions and feedback. I love hearing what you guys want to know and how I can better serve my viewers.

In this video I use my IPAD to try to better demonstrate how the Deeper Pro Plus Portable Sonar WiFi Works for ice fishing for yellow perch. I hope this gives you a better picture since the last one I did for brook trout wasnt the greatest lighting. While I did have some issues with my IPAD freezing after downloading the new iOS from Apple to run the new Deeper program it did not seem to be any fault of the Deeper Device itself but rather an issue that you may run into with your devices out on the ice. Hope you enjoy the video! Happy New Year and Thanks a lot for watching!

Underwater Brook Trout Behavior while ice fishing using a Jaw Jacker, Len Thompson Spoon and Slender Spoon. To get this video I just pointed a GoPro down to watch what would go on while I had a Jaw Jacker set up and while jigging. This was a excellent day of brook trout fishing on very thin ice. The fish were coming in quickly and highly aggressive. You can see the difference in behavior between a dead stick presentation and jigging. It is very profound and might have you changing your fishing ways.

  • Leech Fishing Trout

So I always wondered how fishing leeches would work for the trout. Since quite often when I catch them they often have leeches in their stomach or a few in their mouth. Well I had some left over leeches I had picked along the shore and decided to take them out to the pond. It actually was working really well... but I was getting lots of missed strikes and missed a few hook ups off camera. Well this is what happened. So if you have some leeches laying around and heading to the trout pond give them a try. There were a bunch of people fishing and I didn't see any others caught while there. Lots of surface action. Actually as I walked out a guy on the belly boat was getting some action on the fly. But regardless this leech was getting lots of attention. I probably should have put in to a deeper depth to get into the larger fish. Shoulda coulda woulda... just not enough time and I was getting action just not solid bites. I think they were pulling the leech and missing the hook.

Sometimes hitting up a lake with lots of small pike and walleye can be just what the Doctor ordered. They may not be big but fish after fish action often keeps new anglers and kids very interested on the water. During this video my Dad and I are fishing a lake we both grew up going to, but haven't been to in years. Turns out the fish haven't changed and it's still fast action of tiny pike and decent walleye.

  • Sturgeon Fishing North Saskatchewan Rive...

The North Saskatchewan River is a great place to search for all kinds of fish including the Lake Sturgeon. These fish grow to very large sizes and sometimes reach over and 100 pounds. They are an excellent fighting fish and often clear the water as the jump during long runs up and down river. Powerful fish. In this video an online fishing buddy Jared takes us out to a sturgeon hole on his jet boat. While we only caught two sturgeon we had a great day catching lots of other fish and watching several sturgeon roll on the surface in the area. If you want to head out I hope this video can help you find a sturgeon and show how a Deeper sonar can help you find the Deeper holes in the river where the sturgeon prefer to live. I was pretty excited to get my first sturgeon even if it wasn't a giant.

My First Ever Smallmouth Bass Fishing Adventure Takes Place on Vancouver Island with Matt Benson, Cabela's Pro Staff, from the Youtube Channel Brackish Water Outdoors. He had been inviting me to come out for the last couple of years since I moved to Canada and the stars finally aligned and we were able to connect on an AMAZING day to get out and fish the early spring pre-spawn bite. The fish had really transitioned from the week prior and had now moved up in shallower water waiting to move up at start making nests. We found most of the fish by fishing docks on the sunny shorelines where the water temperature was the highest. The fish were slow though as a high pressure system had them a little tight lippled. The finesse drop shot with a green and white shad shaped worm was the ticket and it was FISH ON once Matt got things worked out. The rest is history. What an absolute blast we had out there. Check out the video and I'm sure you'll agree.

  • Slave Lake Walleye Ice Fishing

Unfortunately on the last trip of the Ice season of 2016/17 I got quite sick and didn't end up fishing at many days as I would have liked... had to chill at home for the last day with the rest of the sick family. It didn't stop me from getting out and catching some more walleye before I called it quits for the season. This evening we were out on Slave Lake. This was located right beside The Ice Shack that you may have seen us fishing in during a previous video.
